The motto of the Olympic Games is “Faster! Higher! Stronger!”

If I compare Olympic athletes from the past and current, I’m always surprised about human abilities. The Olympic athletes compete in sports that require high level of difficulties. The incredible level of difficulty in each sport gets higher and higher every four years. This trend seems to be bottomless. I wonder how much human abilities can continue to improve.

Human abilities have a strong connecting with technology. The Olympics is not only competition for a highly-skilled athlete. We can see the effect of the miracle science and technology has on an athlete’s skill. Some athletes are examined from every conceivable angle and must answers questions on all aspects of their lives.

There is a lot of industry competition in the world. Most athletes need funds and there are lots of companies support them. Companies explore the possibility of lighter and faster sporting goods to further the ability of each athlete. The athletes display their products like walking billboards in the Olympic.

What about each sport’s facilities? Everything is smooth and almost perfect. We can watch competitions in normal and slow speeds on TV. We can find the results of any race when we do not see on television via the Internet. The Olympic village continues to get better and better. And so do mass Medias.

Each new Olympics boast a better and better record in every field for ever. Naturally, people require better entertainment and forced to do the best they can. It seems a natural extension. I sometimes get the urge to watch the Olympics from a fundamental point of view, like old-time Olympics.

Have you ever thought about old-time athletes competing against current athletes in the Olympic?

Players are not able to use any modern equipment and must compete in the nature environment. It is an impossible dream, but that would be something. I wonder which athletes would win in those conditions.

Someday we might realize that we shouldn’t rely too much on high technology.
